I have blogged before about not taking you eyes off of China. If the are able to pull this, we are done. With King Obama in control, I really see this happening. I never in my life thought I would ever even think of something this crazy.. but. in the King Obama Era. anything is possible!!!

On June 27, a plane carrying Wen Jiabao made a “technical” stop on the island of Terceira, in the Azores. Following an official greeting by Alamo Meneses, the regional secretary of environment of the sea, the Chinese premier spent four hours touring the remote Portuguese outpost in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Wen’s Terceira walkabout, which followed a four-nation visit to South America, largely escaped notice at the time, but alarm bells should have immediately gone off in Washington and in European capitals. For one thing, Wen’s last official stop on the trip was Santiago, the capital of Chile. Flights from Chile to China normally cross the Pacific, not the Atlantic, so there was no reason for his plane to be near the Azores. Moreover, those who visit the Azores generally favor other islands in the out-of-the-way chain.

TSA inspectors get a larger annual clothing allowance than Marine lieutenants get through their whole careers

Under their new collective bargaining agreement, Transportation Security Administration officers get to spend more taxpayer money on their uniforms every year than a United States Marine Corps lieutenant can spend in a lifetime.

“TSA employees will see their uniform allowances nearly double to $446 per year,” the House Transportation Committee noted in a press release on the TSA’s new collective bargaining agreement. “By comparison, a combat Marine Lieutenant receives a one-time uniform allowance of $400. The cost of the increase in TSA uniform allowance is an estimated $9.63 million annually.”

King Obama considering John Kerry for job of defense secretary

Unbelievable!!! I think the next four years is going to be one crazy surprise after another. King Obama is just going to do whatever he wants and no one will stop him!!!! John Kerry is so anti military and is appointment would be a major slap in all veterans and active military's face!!!

President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement for former CIA director David H. Petraeus.

Although Kerry is thought to covet the job of secretary of state, senior administration officials familiar with the transition planning said that nomination will almost certainly go to Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

America In Distress. A Sign Of The Times

America is truly in trouble. We have re elected a socialist  to the white house. Our economy is in the toilet with a President who was proven after his first four years that he has no idea how the fix it. His administration is a pack of crooks.. But don't complain or you will be labeled un American or worse!!!

Clay County man says country is in distress

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. -

A Fleming Island man is flying his American flag upside down in what he calls free speech.

Jack Haggerty told Channel 4's Vic Micolucci he is as American as anyone. He's a Korean war veteran. But he thinks the nation is going in the wrong direction, that we're upside down right now, hence his very public display.

But his display is getting a lot of heat and criticism by neighbors. Several neighbors said they were upset with the upside down flag, but only one resident would talk on camera.

"I don't functionally see any difference between flying the flag upside down and hanging it," said neighbor Ron Thompson.

Thompson said he has known Haggerty for years, and he's a good man, but this he said, is a bad decision.

"I understand the sentiment behind it, but personally I don't believe in using the flag as a tool for personal protest. He's not in distress in the sense that he's not calling for help. He doesn't need police or the fire department," said Thompson.

The CEO of popular pizza chain Papa John's says his employees may face reduced hours and he expects his business costs to rise because President Obama's re-election most likely insures the president's health care reform law will be implemented in full.

The Night Watchman

NIGHT WATCHMAN 

Once upon a time the government had a vast scrap yard in the middle of a desert. 

Congress said, "Someone may steal from it at night." 

So they created a night watchman position and hired a person for the job. 

Then Congress said, "How does the watchman do his job without instruction?" 

So they created a planning department and hired two people, one person to write the instructions, and one person to do time studies. 

Then Congress said, "How will we know the night watchman is doing the tasks correctly?" 

So they created a Quality Control department and hired two people. One was to do the studies and one was to write the reports. 

Then Congress said, "How are these people going to get paid?" 

So they created two positions, a time keeper and a payroll officer then hired two people. 

Then Congress said, "Who will be accountable for all of these people?" 

So they created an administrative section and hired three people, an Administrative Officer, an Assistant Administrative Officer, and a Legal Secretary. 

Then Congress said, "We have had this command in operation for one year and we are $918,000 over budget, we must cut back." 

So they laid off the night watchman. 

NOW, slowly, let it sink in. 

Quietly, we go like sheep to slaughter. Does anybody remember the reason given for the establishment of the DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY during the Carter administration? 

Anybody? 

Anything? 

No? 

Didn't think so! 
Bottom line is, we've spent several hundred billion dollars in support of an agency, the reason for which very few people who read this can remember! 

Ready?? 

It was very simple ... and at the time, everybody thought it very appropriate. 

The Department of Energy was instituted on 8/4/1977, TO LESSEN OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL. 

Hey, pretty efficient, huh??? 

AND NOW IT'S 2012 -- 35 YEARS LATER -- AND THE BUDGET FOR THIS "NECESSARY" DEPARTMENT IS AT $24.2 BILLION A YEAR. IT HAS 16,000 FEDERAL EMPLOYEES AND APPROXIMATELY 100,000 CONTRACT EMPLOYEES; AND LOOK AT THE JOB IT HAS DONE! 

(THIS IS WHERE YOU SLAP YOUR FOREHEAD AND SAY, "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?") 
34 years ago 30% of our oil consumption was foreign imports. Today 70% of our oil consumption is foreign imports. 

Ah, yes -- good old Federal bureaucracy. 

NOW, WE HAVE TURNED OVER THE BANKING SYSTEM, HEALTH CARE, AND THE AUTO INDUSTRY TO THE SAME GOVERNMENT?

Memorial Day Thinking From The Liberal Left!!

This Memorial Day, I want to honor my ancestors, at least as far back as my family memory goes.  On both sides of my family, my ancestors were hounded out of Europe by the dogs of anti-Semitism and greed.  Under great pressure, facing an uncertain future in a faraway land, in a time when leaving home very likely meant never again seeing or speaking with family and friends, they bravely gathered what they could carry and set off to try to establish a better future for their descendants.

They succeeded.  My family has prospered here in America.  On my father’s side, the three surviving children of my Russian immigrant great-grandparents became a doctor, a lawyer and (my grandmother) a teacher.  On my mother’s side, the German emigrants of the late 19^th century became comfortable businessmen, doctors and dentists.

The Depression took its toll on my family, but by and large they did well, creating generations of hard-working, honest, loving people who entered energetically into building the American Dream.

Just because none of them died in war doesn’t mean we shouldn’t honor them on Memorial Day.  There are many forms of service to one’s country and one’s family.

This Memorial Day, I raise a toast to the departed, to peace, and to life!
